Riyadh: Three Egyptian fishermen were killed when their boat hit a mine planted by Iran-backed Houthi militias in the international waters in the Red Sea.
Saudi-led military coalition spokesman Colonel Turki Al Malki said that three other Egyptian fishermen who survived the explosion had been rescued.
He said that Houthi militias continue to plant and deploy naval mines which threatens maritime navigation and international trade south of the Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
He announced that the coalition will carry on its efforts to neutralise maritime and naval mine threats.
A total of 137 mines, planted and deployed indiscriminately by Houthi militia south of the Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, were discovered and destroyed, according to SPA.
