Customs officials foil bids to smuggle 138.5 kilogrammes of cannabis

Riyadh: Customs officers foiled three attempts to smuggle 138.5 kilogrammes of cannabis (Hashish) in the province of Jazan.

Border guards arrested a group of infiltrators who were trying to enter the Saudi territories and confiscated 50.5 kilogrammes of cannabis.

In a separate operation, the guards arrested a number of infiltrators in Al-Dayer border region as they attempted to enter Saudi Arabia with 25 kilogrammes of cannabis.

Two Ethiopian traffickers were also arrested while attempting to enter Saudi Arabia through border at Al-Aridha region.  

Police also confiscated 63 kilogrammes of hashish from their possession, reported local Arabic daily Al-Riyadh.
