Caroline Flack, the former host of the hit British reality show "Love Island," has died, her family confirmed Saturday.
40-year-old Flack committed suicide and her body was found in her east London flat on Saturday, a lawyer for the family told PA Media.
"We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February," the family's statement said. "We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us."
Flack's boyfriend, tennis player Lewis Burton, said they had "something special" as he paid tribute to her.
In an emotional Instagram post, Burton said:
Flack had co-hosted 'The X Factor' and won 'Strictly Come Dancing in 2014', as well as presented ITV's Love Island.
She stepped down as host of the dating show after she was charged with assaulting Burton in December.
