MIXED martial arts’ number one team in the world, Team Bahrain, last night started 2020 exactly like it ended 2019: with several gold medals and its number one rank intact.
The Bahrain MMA athletes won seven medals, three gold, two silver and two bronze, and achieved top rank among the males in the IMMAF Oceania Open in Australia.
The gold medal winners are Mohammed Almemari, Ramazan Gitinov and Murtaza Talha Ali while Abdullah Mubarak and Zubair Gazhiv claimed the silver and Abdullah Al Yaqoob and Yousif Sayyar bronze.

“This result shows that we are on the right path. We are the number one team in the world and we’ve shown why in Australia,” said Mohammed Qamber, president of Bahrain MMA Federation.
“These results are the fruits of a lot of hard work. My athletes work harder than anyone else and I’m very happy to see their hard work translated into medals,” said Eldar Eldarov, Brave CF world champion at a professional level and one of the head coaches of Bahrain national team as well as KHK MMA.
“We are very proud of the results shown by KHK MMA athletes. Aside from all the Bahraini fighters winning medals, we also had Muhammad Mokaev shining in his first senior tournament with a gold medal. This shows the vision and hard work of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in putting KHK MMA and the Kingdom of Bahrain at the top of the world in the fastest-growing sport on the planet,” said CEO of KHK MMA and president of BRAVE CF Mohammed Shahid.
