Riyadh: Saudi has announced that it will not cut off power supplies if customers fall behind with their bill payments during the coronavirus outbreak, Arab News reported.
The Saudi Electricity Company reassured the public that it is working to ensure it continues to provide the highest standards of service, despite the precautionary measures it has taken to limit the spread of the virus.
“The company’s emergency service teams are working around the clock to fulfil customer needs,” the company said.
All possible steps have been taken to safeguard the health of employees, customers and the continuity of business and although the offices are closed to visitors, the health of employees is being monitored and preparations are in place to handle any cases of employees who display symptoms, it said.
Safety measures that have been implemented include restricting the number of staff in any one location, flexible shifts and daily heath checks at the entrances to workplaces.
Additionally, specialist companies have been hired to clean and sterilise shared spaces.
With offices closed, customers who need to contact the company are advised to use its online subscriber service or call centres.
