Riyadh: Saudi Post on Tuesday announced the launch of a delivery service across the Kingdom to help protect public health, Arab News reported.
Packages which are usually collected from post offices will now be delivered to people’s doors through a new service with the slogan - For your safety, we’ll deliver to you.
The move comes as Saudi authorities step up precautionary measures, including a curfew and workplace closures, in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Saudi Post has also launched another service called Absher under which newlyweds will no longer have to visit the Civil Service Ministry to collect their 'family registry' after applying for it online.
Instead, it will be delivered to their homes.
Saudi Post said it has been working on a daily basis to raise awareness of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) among staff and safeguard their health.
It has also implemented remote working procedures, in accordance with social-distancing instructions issued by the Saudi government to protect workers and the wider community.
