Kuwait City: A resolution granting a grace period to residence violators to depart the country without paying any fines was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Anas Al Saleh.
The amnesty decision allows residents to leave Kuwait during the period from April 1 to April 30, without incurring any travel fees or flight tickets, with the right to return to the Gulf country another time, according to an official statement on the ministry's Twitter page.
In addition, the Kuwaiti government will provide decent shelters to violators from the time they complete their travel arrangements until their travel date.
The move is part of the directives aimed to combat the spread of the New Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Kuwait has reported a total of 266 cases during the past 24 hours.
