Kuwait City: Kuwait Cabinet extended a holiday that was supposed to end this week until April 23 as part of the country's efforts to curb spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Under the measures, work at ministries, government departments and public establishments will be suspended from next Sunday until April 23 and resume on April 26.
Cabinet official spokesman Tareq Al-Mezrem also announced the extension of the countrywide curfew from 5 pm to 6 am, until further notice, starting April 6 onwards.
The announcements were made during an online news conference following a cabinet meeting.
Kuwait has recorded 665 cases of the new coronavirus and one death so far.
