Abu Dhabi: UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, discussed strategic bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in all fields during a telephone conversation.
During their call, Shaikh Abdullah and Kyung-wha reviewed the latest developments on the coronavirus pandemic and its impacts on countries across the world and efforts taken by the UAE and South Korea to address this challenge.
They also discussed the importance of coordination and exchange of expertise to contain the crisis and overcome its repercussions.
Shaikh Abdullah praised the measures taken by Korea to combat COVID-19 which contributed to the decline in infection rates, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The minister also indicated the importance of strengthening channels of communication and cooperation between countries and the concerted global efforts to contain the pandemic.
Shaikh Abdullah hailed the existing cooperation between the two countries and lauded the support provided by South Korea to the UAE to fight COVID-19.
