Bahrain Taekwondo Federation president Abdulla Isa AlDoy has been appointed vice-president of the US-based World Taekwondo Masters Union (WTMU), whose president is Ki Hong Kim.
Mr AlDoy’s appointment is in recognition of his broad experience in taekwondo at the continental and international levels, being a qualified coach, and also his contributions to founding and promoting the sport in Bahrain.
Bahrain Martial Arts Council president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa congratulated Mr AlDoy for the trust placed in him by WTMU.
This reflects the ability of Bahraini officials to take on leadership roles at the continental and international levels, which has had a clear impact on Bahrain’s numerous sports achievements, he said.
Mr AlDoy thanked Shaikh Salman for supporting martial arts cadres, which contributes to achieving the directives of the King’s representative for charity work and youth affairs, National Security Adviser and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the vison of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to back cadres in all sports.
