Library named after Ambedkar

Bahrain Indian School (BIS), managed by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, celebrated 125th anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, known as the father of the Indian Constitution. 

BIS named the school library after Dr Ambedkar which was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha in the presence of school directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma, principal Dr Heena Rachh and school as well as embassy official. 

Bahrain Chapter of Ambedkar International Mission (AIM) also marked Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.

Visiting speaker from India Dr Krishna Kamble, who is the radiology and oncology head at the Government Medical College, Nagpur, spoke to the members on the topic ‘Ambedkar’s Vision on Modern India’. 

In attendance were the Indian Ambassador, members of the mission and invited guests. 

AIM was founded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1994 by non-resident Indians and the 35-member Bahrain chapter is under its US registration in Texas.
