Bahrain’s artists to display skills

Bahrain News
Sun, 17 Apr 2016

NINE Bahrain-based artists and photographers will display a range of talent and skills at an exhibition called ‘Multiple
Images’.

The expo opens on Wednesday at Al Majla Gallery, Amwaj Islands, at 6pm and runs until April 30.

About 60 images will be on view by Beverly West, Carie Sauze, Imtiaz Ahmed, Irina Averinos, Jacqueline de Freitas, Leana Marshall, Meriel Cooper Wallace, Nadia Aljar and Yusra Ahmed.

“The Multiple Images exhibition is an ensemble of small, separate collections by nine artists,” said exhibition organiser Ms de Freitas.

“In each collection, the artist portrays the world’s many facets as seen through their eyes.

“In some cases the artworks explore emotions and thoughts; in others, they express the beauty of their surroundings.

“While using a variety of media to capture these images, they simultaneously demonstrate their skills as artists and photographers, in an effort to make you stop; to make you think; to give you the opportunity to lose yourself in the piece of art before your eyes.

“Hopefully, this exhibition will also touch your hearts.”

The gallery, opposite Alaziza (Kanoo) Bird Kingdom, will be open from 10am-1pm and 4pm-10pm daily, except Sundays and Mondays.
