Basketball will resume in the kingdom with the Golden Square semi-final round of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League from August 18 to 24.
This was announced by the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) after a board of directors meeting to finalise the dates of the return of competitive action for the 2019-20 season as well as the start of the 2020-21 season.
BBA secretary-general Ahmed Yousif said that while it had been decided to resume the remaining matches of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League and the Khalifa Bin Salman Basketball Cup, the Silver League games have been cancelled.
“The Bahrain Basketball Association has set the date for the Zain Bahrain League with the Golden Square round from August 18 to 24 which will be played in a best-of-three format. The final games of the competition will be played from September 4 to 10, also in a best-of-three format,” said Yousif.
“The preliminary round and the quarter-finals of the Khalifa Bin Salman Cup competition will take place from September 13 to 14, followed by its ‘Golden Square’ matches, again in a best-of-three format, from September 17 to 23. The one-match final, to close the season, will be staged on September 26.”
The action will start all over again with the start of the 2020/2021 season on October 10.
