BAHRAIN Football Association (BFA) held an extended meeting with the Asian delegation supervising the under-19 2016 Asian Cup Championship which is set to take place in Bahrain from October 13 to 30.
Present in the meeting were BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, vice-president Ali Al Buanein and general secretary Hassan Ismail.
Ismail explained that the meeting took place as an evaluation to the organising committee after the draw of the championship and visiting the landmarks which will host the tournament.
This is the second visit for the Asian delegation to Bahrain after their first visit last October.
Ismai added that the supervising committee showed signs of comfort and support towards Bahrain for hosting the tournament especially after the positive feedback for every aspect.
Ismail added that the Asian delegation shared with Shaikh Ali some of their views about the needs and additions to what has already been done.
He noted that the BFA have already began working towards supplying them to have everything ready for the start of the tournament.
“Through the reports prepared by us after watching the draw in addition to visiting the stadiums and training facilities and the housing facilities, the delegation stressed that Bahrain is ready to host the tournament,” Ismail said.
“This comes in line with the directives of the BFA president, who stressed on the importance of reaching organisational readiness required before hosting the Asian event through a way that ensures the emergence of the tournament in the organisational image that reflects the extent of development reached by sports Bahrain in general and football in particular.”
