Arab national arrested for stealing jewellery worth QR 5 million

Doha: Police arrested an Arab national for stealing gold and diamond jewellery and luxurious watches worth QR5 million from the house of a Qatari citizen in Doha.

The police acted promptly and arrested the burglar after the Qatari citizen reported the theft to security authorities.

The thief broke into house, as the owner was travelling abroad, smashed the safe and stole the jewellery and watches.

He admitted to stealing jewellery items and confessed to selling part of the stolen jewellery while some of the jewellery was still kept in his house.

He will be referred to the Public Prosecution after police remand, reported local Arabic daily Al-Sharq.
