Mishal Alneaimi and Chris Rabie completed a clean sweep of their respective seasons, each of which came to a close at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Alneaimi secured a fantastic double in the sixth and final round of the 2015-2016 Bahrain Superbike Championship to win all 12 races in the series’ historic inaugural season.
Rabie, meanwhile, took the chequered flag in both races of the championship finale in the 2016 Bahrain Motorcycle Racing (BMR) 600.
All the action was held along BIC’s 2.55-km Inner Track.
Alneaimi was in a class of his own all season long in the BSBK, in which all participants were competing on identical Ducati 899 Panigale sports bikes.
He regularly won races by gaps of 10 seconds or more and maintained his winning advantage all the way to the last race of the campaign.
The Qatari captured pole position with a fastest lap of one minute 07.745, which was nearly two seconds quicker than his closest rival.
In race one, Alneaimi was a comfortable winner, crossing the finish line in 12:48.023. He was 16.053 seconds ahead of runner-up Fahad Al Suwaidi while Ali Al Shammari made it an all-Qatari podium after finishing 22.825 seconds behind.
Completing the top eight were Ali Adiby (+34.772s) of Bahrain, Ibrahim Al Sharidah (+34.787s) of Saudi Arabia, Rayad Alemadi (+36.171s) of Qatar, Ian Charles (+37.620s) of the UK and Nasir Hussein (+1:05.392) of India.
In race two, Alneaimi continued from where he left off in race one, cruising to first place overall in 12:52.738.
Al Suwaidi was second, 9.979s back, and Al Shammari third, 14.897s from first. Pearce (+23.691s) and Adiby were in the top five, while Al Sharidah (+29.074s), Alemadi (+29.566s) and Charles (+40.321s) finished in that order.
In the BMR 600, Rabie enjoyed his own impressive double. After qualifying on pole with a best lap of 1:18.100, Rabie clinched race one in 14:32.120.
Harry Johnston was not far behind in second place, 3.797s back, while Martijn Heemskirk was third, 21.718s adrift.
Rabie completed his double in race two with a dominant victory. He finished the 11-lap distance in 14:40.222 and was a massive 25.273s ahead of runner-up Heemskirk. David Wynne finished third overall in the six-rider field, 31.429s from the victor.
The result earned him eight victories from as many races to end his campaign in the 2015-2016 season, which was the second in the BMR 600.
