Kuwait City: Kuwaiti media has revealed that 26 judges in the country have contracted the coronavirus.
The infections, which come days after 10 Kuwaiti lawmakers reportedly caught the virus, is a result of the judges coming in contact with other patients, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
“These infections will not hamper court hearings, but may delay them because the judge delegated to offset the shortage has other sessions and needs longer time to hold two sessions in the same day,” a source said.
The source, described as well-informed, called on the Health Ministry to conduct virus-detecting swabs on other judges to get reassured about their well-being.
Kuwait so far has reported a total of 99,049 virus cases and 581 related fatalities.
