MANAMA: Bahrain’s delegation, headed by Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva Ambassador Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, yesterday spoke on behalf of the Arab Quartet supporting the fight against terrorism.
They welcomed Alena Douhan, special rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on human rights, praising the workshop organised in this regard by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, during which participating experts affirmed that “private customary international law on the responsibility of states justifies taking countermeasures, which may in other cases be considered illegal, by a state affected by an internationally wrongful act perpetuated by another state .
