Hidd maintained its lead in the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League following a 2-1 victory over Manama in the 17th round at Al Ahli Stadium last night.
Abdulwahab Al Malood scored both the goals for Hidd in the 37th and 59th minutes, while Isa Ghaleb scored Manama’s lone goal in the 93rd minute. Manama’s Ahmed Mussa was expelled from the game in the 83rd minute.
Hidd lead the points table with 38 points while Manama are in sixth position with 20 points.
In another clash, Riffa routed Al Najma 4-0.
The first goal was scored in the second minute by Kameel Al Aswad who scored again in the 62nd minute through a penalty.
Sayed Hashim Isa and Mohammed Soula scored in the 54th and 57th minutes.
Ali Madan (Al Najma) was shown a red card in the 55th minute. Hamad Shamsan (Riffa) and Ahmed Abdulla (Al Najma) received warning cards.
Riffa now have 37 points and are in second place while Al Najma are in fourth place with 28 points.
In a third match at Arad Stadium, Muharraq defeated Al Hala 2-1.
Tiago Rial and Tiago Augusto scored for Muharraq in the 24th and 71st minutes, while Jassim Noor scored Al Hala’s lone goal in the 42nd minute through a penalty.
Muharraq are in third place with 37 points. Al Hala have officially been relagated to the second division and will leave the competition regardless of the result in the 18th round.
