Kuwait City: An Indian man has been charged with premeditated murder in Kuwait for strangling his Nepali girlfriend out of jealousy.
Criminal Evidences Department personnel said the man doubted his girlfriend of having an affair and after a quarrel between them, he suffocated the victim by placing a pillow over her face until she resisted no more, Al-Anba daily reported.
Police and paramedics rushed to the spot after the incident was reported to the Interior Ministry by the guard of the building.
On arrival, the death looked normal as there were no injuries or marks on the victim's body.
It was only after a neighbour told police that the couple was heard arguing and that the man was seen smoking a little while later, that the suspect was taken into custody.
Police identified scratches on his hands, believed to be injuries he suffered when the victim fought for her life.
Under intense interrogations during his custody, the suspect broke down and admitted to suffocating the victim to death, because he suspected her of an affair with another man.
He has been referred to the Public Prosecution and charged with premeditated murder.
