Dubai: A socially-distanced shopping and leisure experience was in store for visitors as the Global Village opened for its silver jubilee year on Sunday.
Measures to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) are in place and visitors wore masks and had their temperatures checked as they entered the venue.
Cultural performers and street artists also donned their masks, as they entertained revellers, Khaleej Times reported.
A total of 26 pavilions highlighting over 70 cultures from around the world are present with Russia, Vietnam and Cambodia as new additions.
All venues at the park were marked with bright floor stickers to ensure social distancing and visitors have access to more than 600 hand sanitising stations around the park.
Seating arrangements are also in place along with complimentary face masks for children.
