The Advisory Committee of the second edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games ‘Nasser 9’ held its second meeting under the chairmanship of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) General Secretary Abdulrahman Askar and in the presence of the championship’s Executive Committee chief, Tawfeeq Salehi.
Attending the meeting were members of the Executive Committee and representatives from different local sports associations, including championship Manager and Bahrain Football Association General Secretary Hassan Ismail, BOC Sports Associations Manager Hisham Al Balushi, Bahrain Bowling Association General Secretary Fareed Taha, Bahrain Swimming Association General Secretary Faisal Swar, Bahrain Athletics Association’s National Teams Committee Deputy President Rashid Al Buaineen, Bahrain Table Tennis Association General Secretary Ibrahim Sayyadi, Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation representative Abdulredah Sabt and Bahrain Swimming Association representative Khalid Ahmed.
Askar stressed the importance of hard work to ensure best preparations ahead of the kick-off of the tournament. “The tournament has always provided a platform for sporting talent to shine, and this is owed to the plans and goals set by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President,” Askar said.
Salehi praised the collaboration of the Advisory Committee members who played an important in the preparation for the tournament. He hailed the support of the local sports associations, stressing the importance of meticulous implementation of plans to ensure that the tournament is a success.
The meeting discussed the preparations of the sports associations for the tournament and reviewed plans to host the bowling and swimming tournament besides football academies championship, the women’s football tournament, the table tennis contest and athletics championship.
