Cleiton ‘Predator’ Silva is aiming to become the first ever 70kg titleholder in Brave Combat Federation to defend his belt successfully.
Brave CF has held 43 fight cards so far, in more than four years of operation and has put on numerous title fights in that period, in several weight-classes.
Since the early days, though, no one could hold the lightweight world title for one single defence, with all champions losing their titles immediately after capturing it.
It all started at BRAVE CF 9, when Ottman Azaitar won the title, and then asked for more time before defending it. An interim title was created and won by Lucas Martins, who then became the undisputed champ when Azaitar refused to unify. Lucas, then, lost the world title to Jordan’s own Abdul Kareem Al Selwady.
‘The Pride of Palestine’ sought to defend his crown for the first time, but lost to Luan Santiago, who then failed in his first defence to the current champ.
At BRAVE CF 44, current lightweight kingpin Silva is eager to break the curse and become the first ever 70kg titleholder to defend his belt successfully. But his opponent across the cage, Algeria’s Amin Ayoub, is looking to extend the challengers’ streak.
The lightweight division won’t have definitions only at the top, because two top contenders will also meet inside the cage at the November 5 event: Rolando Dy and John Brewin, in a contest that might see the next contender emerging.
Brave CF 44 will kick off the second leg of the prestigious ‘Kombat Kingdom’ series. A week later, on November 12, BRAVE CF 45 will close the schedule.
