Excitement is growing in horse racing circles over the official announcement of a long-term partnership between Rashid Equestrian & Horseracing Club (BERHC) and George Baker Racing.
It has been confirmed that the multi-winning British training outfit is “looking forward” to the establishment of a permanent yard in Bahrain in the coming months.
“We have been very impressed with the commitment and vision of the REHC. The quality of the field for the upcoming Bahrain International Trophy is testament to the quality of the racing surface and the facilities on site, and we are excited to become a part of an ambitious and burgeoning horse racing jurisdiction,” said George Baker, founder of George Baker Racing, UK.
After eight years as a trainer George Baker Racing now has 70 horses in training and is approaching its 400 career winner mark. It says having owners ‘engaged and involved’ with the process is something that has been key to a success story which includes training Royal Ascot winner Belgian Bill.
Baker has also been rewarded with winners in Dubai, Turkey, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the Channel Islands. Runners have also performed with credit in the USA, Scandinavia and Spain.
George and Candida Baker have grown the business together and by surrounding themselves with some ‘exceptionally talented people’ they have seen the business flourish in recent times.
