DUBAI: Mohammed Al Rumaihi scored twice as Bahrain defeated the UAE 3-1 in a friendly match in Dubai last night.
UAE striker Caio Canedo Correa scored the first goal 34 minutes into the first half of the match.
However, Mohammed Marhoon equalised in the 75th minute for Bahrain before Al Rumaihi netted two goals – in the 82nd and 86th minutes.
Bahrain’s national squad, which concluded its training camp in the UAE, had already defeated Tajikistan 1-0 and Lebanon 3-1.
Led by Portuguese coach Hélio Filipe Dias de Sousa, the team is stepping up preparations ahead of the resumption of the 2022 Fifa World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifications.
