KHK Racing’s Beauchamp Bagenal, trained by Hesham Al Haddad and ridden by David Egan, won the Bapco Cup in the fourth race of the season organised by Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club at Sakhir yesterday.
The winner collected a prize of BD5,000 in the 1,400 metre ninth race of the day, for imported horses three years old and older.
The winner was followed by Solar Flair, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Paddy Mathers, in the second place while Victorious team’s Macaque, trained by Hesham Al Haddad and ridden by Abdulla Faisal, finished third.
Meanwhile, Manhattan Bridge, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Hesham Al Haddad and ridden by Husain Makki, won the eighth race for Bapco Cup.
The 1,400m race which offered a prize of BD3,000 was for imported class 3, 4 and maiden horses three years old and upwards.
The second position in the race was claimed by Al Adiyat Racing’s Breath of Air, trained by A Smith and ridden by Gerald Mosse, while Tamerlane of Al Mohamediya Racing, which was trained by Hussain Aldailami and ridden by Paddy Mathers, finished third.
