Bahrain’s recently-concluded Olympic Day festivities continued to receive praises as Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Strategic Planning Director Hasan Abdullatif gave thumbs up for this year’s event, celebrated all around the world.
Abdullatif stressed the committee’s keenness to celebrate the special occasion every year just like other national Olympic committees all over the world to observe the Olympic values of fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship.
“This year, we celebrate the Olympic Day with the first-of-its-kind two-week programme featuring a variety of sports and entertaining activities in an attempt to promote the Olympics values as well as our special slogan ‘Move, Learn and Discover’.
Abdullatif said he was satisfied with the smooth organisation of this year’s Olympic Day, which was a greater success than last year’s edition.
The Strategic Planning director said that the Bahrain Olympic Committee was keen this year to set up a packed programme and new shows that would attract all members of the community and contribute to raise awareness about Olympic values.
“Our celebration of the Olympic Day is a source of pride for us. It’s an occasion to emphasise cooperation and fair sports competitiveness,” he said.
“It is a great opportunity for us to encourage people to exercise. The Olympic Day is a day for everyone to participate and get the opportunity to become involved in various sports and events in an attempt to embody the Olympic values and instil the spirit of unity, peace and fair competition,” added Abdullatif.
