New guidelines for commercial operations have been issued for businesses in Oman as food courts, cinema halls, spas, massage centres and marriage halls get a go-ahead to resume activities.
Cinema halls, operating with 50 per cent capacity, will have to ensure horizontal and vertical distancing for every occupied seat. This means every alternate row will be empty and there will be a gap of two empty seats between two people.
Masks are mandatory for visitors and staff. Self-service touchscreens will be deactivated to ensure safety.
Banquet halls can only host 50 guests for events and functions.
Food courts also have a restriction of 50 per cent of the normal capacity. A maximum of four people can be seated at a table.
Beauty salons and spas have been instructed to use disposable PPEs, which have to be thrown away after a single-use.
