Nine Below Zero, owned by Al Afoo Racing Stable, has won the Kuwait Finance House Cup at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club’s 24th race of the season at its racecourse in Sakhir yesterday.
Trained by Mohammed Saeed and ridden by Daisuke Fukumoto, Nine Below Zero won the 1400m seventh race of the day leaving Tamerlane of Al Mohamediya Racing in second place.
Al Sairafi Syndicate’s Alabrar finished third.
The winner of the day’s top race for imported horses rated (0-90) three years old and above also collected a prize of BD4,000.
Al Hassanain Syndicate’s Zymyran won the sixth race for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup (1800m, BD2,500) ahead of Al Mohamediya Racing’s Caledonian Crusade and Zezenia of MKAR Racing.
The fifth race for the Kuwait Finance House Cup (1000m, BD3,000) was won by Al Afoo Racing Stable’s Don Armado while Victorious’ Toulouse le Plot claimed the top spot in the fourth race for Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup (1000m, BD2,500).
M and E Racing’s High Beam clinched first place in the third race for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup (2200m, BD2,500) while The Dark Knight, owned by Victorious, won the second race for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup (1800m, BD2,500).
Al Jellaby 1791 of Al Riffa claimed the top spot in the first race of the day for the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club Cup (1200m, BD2,000).
Supreme Commission of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was present.
Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, adviser at the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry, presented the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Cups for the second, third and fourth rounds to Shaikh Salman bin Muhammad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the sixth cup to the winning owner Abdul Rasul Jean. Kuwait Finance House executive director Muhammad Fahmy Hamad presented the fifth and seventh round cups to the winning owner Ibrahim Al Pardon, and executive director of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the first round cup to Raed Al Buainain.
