Muscat: Oman's Education Ministry has announced that over 2,700 expatriate teachers currently employed by schools in the country will be replaced by Omani nationals for the upcoming school year.
A total of 2,733 expatriates will be replaced by Omanis who have cleared the relevant teaching exams as well as those who are currently on the waiting list, Times of Oman reported.
An official said the names of the new teachers would be announced ahead of July 2021; a move that is part of the ministry’s efforts to contribute to a broader effort to Omanise more roles.
