Riyadh: A Saudi national died after contracting the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in the city of Najran.
The 86-years-old man was admitted to a hospital. However, he died due to serious complications.
The Ministry of Health announced that a 55-year-old expatriate had been diagnosed with the disease and referred to another hospital in the City of Jeddah.
The authorities reported more than 30 cases over the past few days.
According to updated statistics released by the ministry, more than 590 people have died since the disease first broke out in Saudi Arabia in 2012, reported local Arabic daily Sabq.
