Muscat: The passenger traffic at Muscat international Airport grew 18.9 per cent during the first five months of 2016 to 4,808,563 passengers as against 4,043,865 during the same period of last year.
The number of flights at the airport also rose by 10.1pc 41,436 compared with 37,641 flights last year, according to the latest report by the National Centre for Statistics & Information (NCSI).
International flights increased 13.5pc to 37,767 flights while domestic flights decreased 15.9pc to 3,699 during the period, compared with figures for the same period of 2015.
Meanwhile, international passenger count at the airport reported a growth of 19.7pc to 4,433,315 passengers while domestic passengers increased by 9.9pc to 375,248 passengers during the period.
The passenger traffic at the Salalah Airport grew 16pc to 419,150 passengers as against 361,273 during the same period of last year. The number of flights at the airport on the other hand fell 5.5pc to 3,555, compared with 3,763 flights last year.
International flights increased 8.9pc to 1,544 flights while domestic flights decreased 14.2pc to 2,011 during the period, compared with figures for the same period of 2015.
Meanwhile, international passenger count at the airport reported a growth of 26.8pc to 155,421 passengers while domestic passengers increased by 10.5pc to 263,729 passengers during the period.
