Kuwait: Customs authorities arrested a Syrian national for attempting to smuggle drugs via Kuwait International Airport.
The customs officers coordinated the operation with anti-narcotics squad in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Shaikh Mohammed Al-Khalifa and Undersecretary Lieutenant-General Suleiman Al-Fahd.
They seized 200,000 amphetamine pills which were packed in biscuit wrappers from Lebanon.
In a second operation, an Asian passenger was arrested at the airport as he attempted to smuggle 4 kilogrammes of ‘shabu’ and 500 grammes of heroin, reported local Arabic daily Al-Qabas.
An Iraqi trafficker and an illegal expatriate woman were also caught for dealing in shabu and heroin.
They were all referred to the anti-narcotics directorate.
