  • <p>Outgoing presidents of the various Rotary Clubs in Bahrain passed the torch to incoming presidents at a gala dinner held last night at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain.</p>
<p>The ceremony saw all four clubs come together to celebrate their achievements in the past year and welcome new presidents.</p>
<p>It was attended by nearly 80 people from the various clubs, including Rotary Club of Salmaniya outgoing president Yousuf Fakhro and incoming president Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Rotary Club of Manama outgoing president Bob Thaker and new president Chetan Bhatia, Rotary Club of Adliya outgoing president Larry Dimingo and incoming president Durry Al Atassi, and Rotaract Bahrain outgoing president Adnan Al Ameer and new president Jalal Aqelah.</p>

<p>Seef Properties made a charity donation to Bahrain&rsquo;s Smile Initiative to help spread awareness and provide better care for children and families battling cancer.&nbsp;</p>
<div>The initiative was set up in 2010 as part of The Future Society for Youth and features programmes for children suffering from cancer and their families.&nbsp;</div>

<p>Five top-scoring students of Khawla Secondary Girls School were honoured by Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa at a ceremony at the governorate&rsquo;s hall in Gudaibiya.&nbsp;</p>

  • <p>The Housing Ministry yesterday started distributing homes in Al Hajiyat project. The move is in line with the order issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to distribute 5,000 units. Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer said the remaining units would be distributed to eligible recipients over two days. He underlined the ministry’s resolve to spare no effort to meet citizens’ housing needs.</p>
