  • <p>Students from the New Millennium School-DPS Bahrain donated BD300 to the Think Pink Bahrain breast cancer charity. The funds were raised during a drive at the 2018 New Millennium Model United Nations Conference. Around 250 delegates from five schools in Bahrain took part in the conference. <p>Bahrain&rsquo;s national carrier marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an event at its Muharraq headquarters attended by management and staff of the airline, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and Gulf Aviation Academy.&nbsp;</p>
<div>The event, featuring health-related activities and information kiosks, was attended by BAC chief executive Mohammed AlBinfalah, GAA CEO Dr Dhaffer Al Abbasi, Gulf Air CEO Kre&scaron;imir Kucko along with employees who received a full consultation and examination.</div>

<p>Bahraini artist Leena Al Ayoobi is showcasing her work at the German Orthopaedic Hospital, Salmaniya as part of the facility&rsquo;s efforts to encourage local talent and promote cultural and artistic ties between Bahrain and Germany under its &ldquo;Artist of the Season&rdquo; campaign.&nbsp;</p>

  • <p>Team Bahrain, represented by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), the Economic Development Board and Bahrain Fintech Bay, has won an award for its initiatives in fintech.</p>
<p>The Mena Fintech Hub of the Year Award for Bahrain was conferred by Fintech Galaxy, a digital crowdfunding platform, in association with Entrepreneur Middle East, a flagship regional business magazine, during FinX 2018 in Dubai.</p>
<p>The award recognises excellence in creating an active and innovative fintech ecosystem, involving a joint effort between the regulator, banks, accelerators, and investors.</p>
<p>The award was received on behalf of Team Bahrain by CBB Governor Rasheed Al Maraj.</p>

  • <p>Bahrain Airport Company chief executive Mohamed Al Binfalah has been appointed as a special adviser to the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific regional board, the governing body overseeing regional policy development and fiscal management. In this role, Mr Al Binfalah will provide guidance, together with the board, to the organisation’s regional office to further the interests of the Asia-Pacific aviation industry as a whole. The ACI Asia-Pacific regional board represents the interests of more than 580 airports in 48 countries and territories, which account for more than 90 per cent of commercial air traffic in the Asia-Pacific region.</p>

  • <p>Diyar Al Muharraq has signed up as strategic sponsor for the 2018 Bahrain International Property Exhibition (Bipex). The three-day event starts tomorrow under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. At the exhibition, Diyar Al Muharraq is set to highlight its diverse range of projects, in particular the Al Bareh residential freehold plots as well as commercial villa plots, commercial showroom plots, and the Jeewan social housing villas.   • <p>Real Search, a property and facilities management services provider, has signed an agreement with Benefit Company, the operator of the national network for financial transactions. Under the agreement, Real Search clients will be able to use the Fawateer instant online payment service with all retail banks connected to the Benefit network. This means the property firm’s clients will be able to pay their monthly rents, annual instalments to Real Search through their bank’s online portal, mobile banking apps and BenefitPay. The agreement was signed by Real Search general manager Abdulrahman Al Kooheji and Benefit chief executive Abdulwahid Janahi.</p>

Members of the league showed their support for the charity by dressing in pink on the night, decorating the netball court in pink and putting up a memory wall where players can write a dedicated message to someone affected by breast cancer.
