Bahrain yesterday claimed a 3-0 win over Iraq in the Davis Cup Asian/Oceania Group Four in Amman.
Bahraini Abdulkarim Abduelredha scored a 6-2, 6-2 win over Iraq’s Ali Hashem Al Mayeh in the first singles while Hassan Abdulredha overcame Iraq’s Akram Al Saadi 6-0, 7-5 in the second.
In the doubles, Hassan and Abdulkarim defeated Barakat Zayni and Ali Sweid 6-1, 6-4.
Bahrain had earlier lost 3-0 to hosts Jordan and now have a match against Tajikistan.
If Bahrain win that match, they will finish second in their group and face the winners of group two.
