Indonesia’s Bobby Setiabudi and Aisya Fatetani have won the men’s and women’s singles titles in the Bahrain International Series Badminton Tournament 2021.
In the finals, played at the Indian Club, Setiabudi beat Hong Kong’s Chan Yin Chak 21-18, 11-21, 21-16 and Fatetani held off compatriot Komang Dewi 14-21, 21-14, 21-19.
In doubles, the women’s crown went to the Hong Kong pairing of Yeung Nga Ting and Yeung Pui Lam, who defeated compatriots Ng Tsz Yau and Tsang Hiu Yan 21-13, 21-18, while the men’s title was clinched by Indonesia’s Amri Syahnawi and Christopher David Widjaya who eased past compatriots Muh Putra Erwansiyah and Patra Harapan Rindorindo 21-13, 21-13.
The mixed doubles title went to Hong Kong’s Lee Chun Hei Reginald and Ng Tsz Yau who defeated Law Cheuk Him and Yeung Nga Ting, also from Hong Kong, 23-21, 21-12 in the final.
Prize money and BIS2021 trophies were presented to the various winners and runners-up and medals were handed out to the losing semi-finalists. Besides, mementoes were presented to the event’s sponsors as well as tournament officials and organisers.
The tournament was organised by the Indian Club in association with The Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
