A string of concerts have been lined up as Bahrain prepares for a long holiday weekend in celebration of the country’s National Day and His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne.
Arab superstars Majid Al Mohandis and Assala Nasri are set to perform at the Al Dana Amphitheatre, Sakhir, this evening.
Ms Nasri and Mr Al Mohandis will start serenading crowds with their hits at 6pm.
Ms Nasri, a popular Syrian artist, hosts a musical entertainment programme on TV. She also performed the official song of the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games called Right Where I’m Supposed to Be in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Ryan Tedder, Avril Lavigne, Luis Fonsi, Hussain Al Jassmi and Tamer Hosny.
Mr Al Mohandis, an Iraqi-Saudi artist, is known in the music industry as the ‘engineer of Arab songs’.
British rapper Tinie Tempah will perform live at the Dilmun Club, Janabiya, tommrrow.
Known as one of the most successful British rap artists in the UK chart history, the rapper is well-known for hits such as Girls Like, Diamonds, Pass Out and Written in the Stars.
The event begins at 2pm and will go on till 12 midnight.
On Thursday, popular music icons Flipperachi, Mohammed Rabeea and Jaber Al Turki will perform at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
The Batelco National Day Concert will be held from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The entry fee is BD1 and all proceeds will go towards the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the BIC said.
Prior to the concert, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky above the Sakhir desert with vibrant colours, starting at 7pm.
Fireworks will also take place this evening at the Bahrain Water Garden City alongside other activities organised by the Capital Governorate, and above the December 16 Highway in Isa Town on the same day as part of the Southern Governorate’s celebrations.
