Cordoba CF yesterday left Bahrain, concluding their training camp held as part of preparations for the second half of the Spanish second division league.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of the training camp which would contribute to promoting Bahrain’s development strides, including the sports sector.
He said that local teams have also gained from the Spanish Federation Cup winners’ visit, which would also benefit Bahrain national team.
Shaikh Nasser said that Cordoba’s visit would have a positive impact on local football and soccer teams in Bahrain.
He pointed out that the training camp has also ushered in wider opportunities for future co-operation with local teams and Bahrain Football Association.
He expressed hope that co-operation with the Spanish team would contribute to further developing football in Bahrain and tapping into new talents.
Cordoba beat Al Khalidiya 3-1 and drew 1-1 with Riffa in two friendly matches played at the Bahrain National Stadium.
