Al Shabab ensured promotion to the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League after their 1-0 victory over Galali in the 15th round match of the Bahrain Second Division Football League last night.
The victory raised their tally to 35 points as they top the standings with two rounds to go.
Demba was the lone scorer of last night’s match, played at Isa Town Stadium. He fired a powerful shot into the net after a pass from Syed Ahmed Jaafar. Galali tried to stage a comeback, but Al Shabab defenders foiled the attempts.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Club scored an easy 3-0 victory over Al Tadhamun in the other match of the night.
After a uneventful first half, the match saw three goals being scored in the latter half. Brito scored twice while David Job netted the third goal for Bahrain Club.
Last night’s victory was Bahrain Club’s second successive win having outplayed Al Ettifaq 5-1 in the 14th round. They went down 2-0 to table toppers Al Shabab before being held 1-1 by Sitra in the previous rounds.
Bahrain Club continue to occupy the second spot with 31 points, behind leaders Al Shabab who have maintained their four-point lead after last night’s victory.
Al Tadhamun languish at the bottom of the table with six points after a string of losses.
