Saudi authorities have begun confiscating rainbow-coloured toys and children's clothing, which they claim encourage homosexuality, local media reported.
Commerce Ministry officials were seen removing a range of items from shops in Riyadh, including such items as hair clips, pop-its, T-shirts, hats and pencil cases, Al-Ekhbariya report said.

"The items contradict the Islamic faith and public morals, and promote homosexual colours targeting the younger generation," one official said.
The ministry tweeted that its teams were seizing "products that contain symbols and signs calling for deviation and contradicting common sense", adding that shops found to be selling them would face legal penalties.
