A total of 350 students are participating in various research projects under the Mawhiba Research Enrichment Programme launched by a leading foundation in Saudi.
The initiative by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity sees students from across the kingdom taking part in the projects which fall under 10 different fields.
Seven universities and research centres in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dhahran and Dammam are part of the four-week-long programme that will run until August 28.
Attending the programme in person are 290 students, while the other 60 are participating remotely, it was revealed.
The initiative's main focus is on developing students’ scientific research skills through practice in laboratories.
Upon completing, the students will be able to use their research to participate in the 2023 National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, an annual national competition that is a gateway to the International Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held in Texas, US, in 2023.
