A married woman in China was arrested after she scammed nearly 2 million yuan($296,000) from around 20 men she was dating.
The woman, who was only identified as Wu, began luring men into fake marriage agreements in 2017, even dating 18 men at once.
Reportedly, she would start dating men, lure them with fake promises, even going as far as taking 'pre-wedding photos', before asking them for money.
Her reasons for needing the money would often be something regarding her family; either a sick parent or a brother in an emergency.
Some of the men that Wu dated reportedly took out loans to fulfil her requests.
The police were alerted to the scam after one of Wu's boyfriends, Wang lodged a complaint against her after she couldn't return the $133,000 he had lent her.
During the investigation, the police found that Wu was already married since 2014 and had a two-year-old son.
