AN event introducing children to the study of museums and the history of their establishment and development is being held on Thursdays during the month.
The Young Museologist, at the Bahrain National Museum, is aimed at strengthening the kingdom’s national identity and introducing youth to the history and civilisation of Bahrain.
The event will also teach them about the role of museums in preserving the cultural heritage of nations.
Children between the ages of eight and 13 will learn about the work done by specialists at the museum from recording, restoring, exhibiting the collections and tours.
These practical activities will resemble reality and will take place from 9am to 11.30am today and on August 25.
The event is being organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
Registration is required at culture.gov.bh
