AN event introducing children to the study of museums and the history of their establishment and development is being held today.
The Young Museologist, at the Bahrain National Museum, is aimed at strengthening the kingdom’s national identity and introducing youth to the history and civilisation of Bahrain.
It will also teach them about the role of museums in preserving the cultural heritage of nations.
Children between the ages of eight and 13 will learn about the work done by specialists at the museum, which includes recording, restoring, exhibiting the collections and organising tours.
These practical activities resembling reality and will take place from 9am to 11.30am.
The event is being organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. Registration is required at culture.gov.bh.
