MPs have been warned not to hold any more unofficial meetings to select Parliament’s Speaker and deputies, which legal experts say are unconstitutional and go against international norms.
Directed by Speaker Fouzia Zainal, who is standing down from the position but continues to run Parliament on an interim basis, the Legal Advisory Board convened yesterday to discuss the legality of an unofficial preliminary meeting held by nominees in one of the Parliament’s halls .
