Top dart players from around the world will be taking their shot next weekend in Bahrain in the opening round of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Series of Darts global tour.
The inaugural Bahrain Darts Masters 2023, brought to the kingdom by Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), PDC and sports promoter CBX, features a 16-player field including eight world-renowned stars competing for glory at the BIC’s dome tent on January 12 and 13.
Bahraini darts players Bassim Mahmood and Abdulnaser Yusuf will be joining six others from the wider Asia region, including legendary Singapore star Paul Lim and Japan’s Toru Suzuki at the Dome – which will be transformed into a major darts venue inspired by the world-renowned Alexandra Palace in London which is the home of the World Championships.
Japan’s Yuki Yamada, Alain Abiabi of the Philippines, India’s Nitin Kumar and Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung will take part.
Among the top players who aim to make their mark in the opening round are reigning World Champion Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright and world number one Gerwyn ‘The Iceman’ Price.
Rob Cross and multiple World Champion and darts legend Raymond van Barneveld will also compete alongside Grand Slam of Darts champion Michael Smith, two-time World Series winner Dimitri Van den Bergh and rising star and world number five Luke Humphries.
Welsh superstar Jonny Clayton, a former Premier League and World Cup of Darts champion, will complete the eight PDC representatives to compete at the BIC.
