FOOTBALL – Bahrain's women’s football national team lost to their counterparts from Palestine 0-1 last night in a friendly match played at Al Ahli Club Stadium in Mahooz.
Ahlam Nasr scored the game’s lone goal, firing home in the 80th minute to secure the victory for the visitors.
Yesterday’s contest was the first of two friendly fixtures this week between the two sides. They are scheduled to meet again on Tuesday. The Bahrainis will then play another two tune-up matches against Indonesia’s women’s national team on June 8 and 11.
The friendlies are part of the Bahrain players’ preparations for this year’s Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, set to take place this November in Bangkok, Thailand, with the kingdom’s women’s futsal team participating.
Many of the players on Bahrain’s women’s football national team also suit up with the futsal squad.
