Al-Kharj - The Undersecretary of Al-Kharj Governorate, Dr Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairi, inaugurated yesterday the first Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee. The festival, held at the Al-Kharj Municipality Celebrations Centre, will continue for ten days.
Upon his arrival, Dr Al-Sudairi was received by several officials and took a tour of the various sections of the festival. He was briefed on the exhibits and activities designed to highlight the unique monuments of the governorate. The festival's primary goal is to enhance Al-Kharj's reputation as a vibrant tourist and heritage destination, while promoting local products on both national and international levels.
Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee, supported by various government departments and institutions within the governorate, underscores the importance of these two products in Saudi culture. Dates represent the Kingdom's agricultural heritage and its status as one of the world's leading producers and exporters of dates, while Saudi coffee is a vital part of the national identity, symbolizing generosity and social authenticity.
