CRICKET – Kansara XI defeated Jay Karnataka to lift the Bahrain Financing Company-BKS Seven-a-Side Cricket Trophy.
Kansara XI won an exciting final played at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) grounds in Segaya.
Winning the toss, Kansara XI elected to bat first and scored 63 runs from the six overs match.
Jay Karnataka struggled to keep up with the run rate in the initial overs and were able to get a total of 45 for five from their innings.
The Man of the Match was Suman of Kansara XI. He scored three runs from five balls and took two wickets in the finals.
Shaheen Group claimed third place overall after beating Sariga in their classification match.
The Player of the Tournament honour was given to Karan Shah of Kansara XI, who scored 106 runs in the tournament and took five wickets.
The final was attended by representatives of sponsors, the BKS executive committee, and a large crowd of cricket enthusiasts in the kingdom.
Trophies and cash awards were presented to the winners and runners-up by BKS president P V Radhakrishna Pillai, BKS general secretary Varghese Karakkal, and representatives of sponsors Bahrain Financing Company, Super Foods, PKE Gulf, and Bin Moon Trading.
